Therapy Modalities

I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to provide an approach that is tailored to each individual and their unique needs. Together, we will explore practical tools and strategies to help you navigate difficult situations and emotions.

I also incorporate attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches to support a deeper understanding of the experiences and patterns that
may be at the root of current challenges. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can develop practical skills while also exploring the deeper experiences that shape how you relate to yourself and the world around you.

My name is Jenna Harney, and I have been a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers since 2018. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Social Work from Carleton University. For the past nine years, I have provided mental health therapy to individuals and groups in community-based settings, primarily supporting Indigenous communities.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people through a wide range of life experiences, including anxiety and depression, pregnancy and postpartum, trauma, life transitions, and employment, educational, and financial stressors. As a mother of a busy
toddler myself, I have a personal understanding of the transition to motherhood and the many emotional and practical challenges that can come with becoming a parent. My lived experience as an Indigenous woman also informs my approach to therapy, allowing me to bring an
understanding of the importance of culture, identity, and connection into my work.

I take a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. I believe that when we feel more connected and balanced within ourselves, we are better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

With this belief at the heart of my practice, I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor treatment to each individual’s unique circumstances. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work at your pace to create a supportive space where you can feel heard,
understood, and empowered to move toward the changes you are seeking.
