Perinatal Grief and Loss

You Are Not Alone

Perinatal or pregnancy loss can bring waves of grief, shock, guilt, anger, numbness, and longing — sometimes all at once. Many people feel isolated in their experience, especially when others minimize the loss or expect them to “move on.”

You may be struggling with:

  • Intense grief or sadness that feels overwhelming
  • Trauma symptoms related to the loss, medical care, or birth experience
  • Feelings of guilt, shame, or self-blame
  • Anxiety about future pregnancies or medical appointments
  • Changes in identity, relationships, or sense of safety in your body
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
  • Grieving milestones, dreams, and the life you imagined

All of these responses are valid.

Our Approach

We provide a safe, supportive space where your experience is honored — without judgment, pressure, or comparison. Therapy is tailored to your needs and may include support with:

  • Processing grief and loss in a way that feels manageable
  • Working through traumatic aspects of the experience
  • Building skills to manage intrusive grief and moments of intense emotions
  • Honouring the depth of your attachment
  • Navigating anniversaries, triggers, and ongoing reminders
  • Supporting identity shifts and relationship changes

Our therapists are trained in perinatal mental health and trauma-informed modalities, including approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and attachment-focused work, when appropriate.

Healing After A Loss

Healing does not mean forgetting or “getting over” your loss. It means learning how to carry it with care, compassion, and support. Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself, rebuild a sense of safety, and find ways to move forward while honoring what has been lost.

If you are navigating perinatal loss and are seeking support, we are here to walk alongside you.
