Free Pregnancy Care Plan: Where Anticipation Meets Preparation

Pregnancy is often a multidimensional experience for the pregnant person. For many, but not all, it can be a time of excitement. For some folks it can feel tricky. There is a transition that starts into default parenting with an increased need for medical care, appointments, and tracking. There can often be changes in our activities and how we feel about our bodies and our identity. At times, the pregnant person can feel pressure from within, from their family system, community at large, and trying to manage competing expectations. For some, they might be holding grief from a previous loss and anxiety about the future. For others, feelings of fear, longing for past times, and sadness. For others, they move into this new experience with joy.

All feelings are valid. There is no wrong way to feel.

During this season of transition, it can feel like there are never-ending to-do lists, milestone dates and events, and planning for future parenting.

Our Pregnancy Care Plan was created to support you in a grounded, compassionate way.

All of it is valid.

Pregnancy planning allows space for both preparation and processing. It invites you to slow down, gather information, and tend to your well-being before you enter a season that can be physically and emotionally demanding.

This care plan outlines:

  • Medical, mental health, and allied care team
  • Celebrations and rituals
  • Reflection on roles and expectations
  • Division of labour and household tasks planning
  • Developing a self-care plan
  • Building a support network

There is no ‘right’ way to prepare during pregnancy and each family has different considerations and needs.

Preparation is not about controlling the outcome; it’s about caring for yourself along the way. If you are in this season now, know that you do not have to navigate it alone.

This guide is a starting point; however, it is not a replacement for specialized and individualized mental health care. Please feel free to reach out for additional support from one of our qualified team members.
